Belfast City of Sanctuary, in collaboration with iAssist NI, is proud to see our Ending Violence Against Women and Girls initiative gaining momentum across the city.
In recent weeks, a number of key city leaders and partners have formally endorsed the campaign by signing our Certificate of Endorsement, pledging their support to build a Belfast where every woman and girl can live free from fear and violence, regardless of background or origin.
We are honoured to have the support of:
- MLA Stewart Dickson
- MLA Paula Bradshaw
- Deputy Lord Mayor of Belfast, Councillor Paul Doherty
- Gerry Turbbit, CEO, Ballynafeigh Community Development Association
- Maura McClean, Communities Officer, Macmillan Cancer Support
Their public endorsement sends a powerful message that ending violence against women and girls is a shared responsibility – across government, community organisations, and wider society.
To everyone who has stood with us so far: thank you for your continued support.
And a special thank you to Belfast City Council for their ongoing partnership and commitment to making Belfast a safer, more welcoming city for all.
Together, we will keep raising awareness, challenging harmful attitudes, and supporting women and girls who deserve to live in safety, dignity and freedom.
